X 10 INCHES DEEP !
FROM AN 11 FOOT SHARK !!!

WOW! WHAT A LOVELY SHAPE!
It's Set In A Natural Posture Much As It Resides In The Shark.

Upper A1 Primary Teeth Are Nice.
Some wear on the Shark's right A2.
A left lateral tooth chipped, as is the right intermediate.

LONGEST TOOTH IS 1+13/16 INCHES ...
WOW! THAT'S A HUGE
MEASUREMENT FOR A MAKO!

One of the lower A1 has been worn down, this
feeding wear is on the same side as the upper
wear. I wonder how this Shark used It's teeth
for securing prey. Very often Shark teeth
are sheared from capture or breakage from
feeding; I don't see the type of 'filing' wear
as displayed on this jaw often, it's almost as
if the Shark spent a lot of time rummaging
in the coral and rocks on the ocean floor,
flipping them over in search for food.

These HUGE Mako Sharks are almost finished! The
Fisheries have been closed which is good for the
Sharks, hopefully They stay in Australian waters
where commercial fishing is tightly regulated
and not venture out into International Zones
where Pirates prevail !

Most of You know that I like to set my Specimens in a natural pose,
much as the jaw resides in the Shark. Every once in a while I 'stretch"
a jaw so that It has a more 'flat' shape, which makes it easier to
mount on a plaque. If You so desire this type of shape ...

IT'S VERY-DANGEROUS!
These sharks are a brilliant blue gray or cobalt blue on top, changing
to light blue along their sides and snowy white on their belly
and lower jaw. Shortfin mako sharks are large, streamline shaped
fish that have a conical snout and a crescent shaped tail fin.Though
similar to blue sharks in color, They differ in the shape of their snout.
Their long slender teeth, which curve inward and have no cusps at
their bases or serrations along their edges, easily separate them
from white sharks and porbeagles.

Mako Sharks are well known for their aerial capabilities.
